2 Day Trip to Lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru National Park is  an unforgettable 2-day adventure witnessing a spectacle unlike any other – a shimmering pink lake teeming with thousands of flamingos.

Morning: Start your day early with a drive from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is about 160 kilometers northwest of Nairobi, and the drive takes approximately 2-3 hours.  On arrival at the park, head out on a morning game drive. This is the best time of day to see animals, as they are most active in the cooler temperatures. Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for its flamingos, but there are also plenty of other animals to see, such as lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes, and zebras.

Lunch: After your morning game drive, enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park’s designated picnic spots. There are several picnic spots around the lake, all with stunning views.

Afternoon: In the afternoon, you can do a hike to Makalia Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall located within the park. The hike is relatively easy and takes about an hour to complete. Alternatively, you can visit the park’s rhino sanctuary, which is home to both black and white rhinos.

Evening game drive: As the day winds down, head out on an evening game drive. This is another great opportunity to see animals, as they are often more active in the late afternoon and evening.

Evening : After your evening game drive check out of the park and drive to your hotel for overnight stay.
